OUTGOING MAIL PROCEDURE

It is very important the Postage Charge Ticket be completed online so that the required barcode will properly format. Do not prepare the Postage Charge Ticket manually.

The procedure for processing outgoing, unstamped University mail is changing, effective immediately. This new process will impact unstamped USPS mail being sent from your department. Please read the important information below, as we need your cooperation to successfully implement this technology upgrade.

Outgoing, unstamped University mail will now require a Postage Charge Ticket (PCT) that contains a WFU budget code specific barcode. The PCT allows for faster sorting, better accuracy of reporting charges, and an increase in overall efficiency for our mail services employees.

There is no change in the handling of intercampus mail, personal mail or stamped mail. Department mail pouches will continue to be used for all mail.

Attach a completed Postage Charge Ticket to all outgoing mail requiring postage by:

  • rubberband if you bundle letters from the same budget number
  • paperclip to individual letters
  • tape to larger packages

If you have any difficulties installing and using the PCT, please contact one of the following and ask for assistance installing the Postage Charge Ticket.
